At Vetri Uravugal Educational and Social Welfare Trust, we believe in the power of kindness, compassion, and hope. Founded by Geetha Ramesh Kumar, a woman deeply committed to making a difference, our trust is driven by the belief that every individual, regardless of their circumstances, deserves to live with dignity and respect.
Geetha’s journey began in the cultural town of Thanjavur, where she completed her M.Sc. in Physics from Raja Serfoji College. Her desire to help others led her to specialize in education for people with disabilities. Over the years, she has witnessed firsthand the struggles and isolation that many face, and it is this experience that has fueled her passion for social change. Through Vetri Uravugal, Geetha has created a space where those who are often overlooked are given a chance to thrive.
Our mission is simple yet profound: To bring light into the lives of those who have been left in the dark by society. We are here to empower individuals with disabilities, support women who have been abandoned or abused, offer care to the homeless, and provide love and comfort to the elderly and orphaned children. We exist to heal, to lift up, and to provide a sense of belonging to those who have been forgotten.
We stand by our commitment to ensuring that no one, regardless of their challenges, ever feels invisible. Through education, care, and empowerment, we aim to build a brighter future for every person who walks through our doors.
We envision a world where every person, no matter their background or hardship, is embraced with compassion, given opportunities, and allowed to live a life full of hope. Our vision is to break down the walls of discrimination, fear, and isolation. We want a society where people with disabilities, women in need, the elderly, and orphaned children are seen, heard, and supported. We are here to build bridges that bring people together, where love and empathy shine through, and where no one is ever left behind.
OUR TEAM
We see potential in every person, regardless of their physical or mental limitations. We provide opportunities for education, skill-building, and employment to help individuals with disabilities realize their dreams and live independently with pride. Our goal is not just to offer help, but to show them that they are capable of achieving greatness.
Many women have faced unimaginable hardship—abandonment, abuse, and discrimination. Vetri Uravugal offers them a safe place to heal, to learn, and to rise again. Through counseling, skill development, and emotional support, we help these women rebuild their lives with strength and courage, so they can walk forward with their heads held high
Everyone deserves to be seen. For those who live on the streets, forgotten by society, we offer shelter, food, and a chance for a new beginning. We believe that no one is beyond hope, and we walk with these individuals to help them find their way back to a life of dignity and security.
In our homes for the elderly and orphaned children, we provide a sanctuary of love, care, and warmth. For seniors who have been left behind, we offer a place of comfort where they are treated with the respect and love they deserve. For children who have lost everything, we give them a safe environment to grow, to learn, and to feel loved again.
These children are not defined by their disabilities, but by their infinite potential. Our day care services offer a nurturing space where children with mental challenges can receive education, care, and attention. We create an environment where they can flourish, feel safe, and be themselves.
